In depth

Verdict

The lightly raced Lethal is selected ahead of Morse and Connect in the hope that he can continue to move up the ladder. The Dean Ivory-trained Lethal has shown a good burst of speed and, having comfortably brushed aside Morse here last week, he is fancied to cope with his latest rise in the weights. Connect is a tough customer on his day and, as he is a reliable character, he is one to serious consider if the market backs up his claims. Morse is 7lb better off with the selection and has a feasible chance of reversing last week's form. However, he is fully exposed and needs to pull something out of the hat today. Especially if Lethal shows the anticipated improvement and is allowed to take his chance today.
