Calloffthesearch gets the nod over Compulsion and Batchworth Fleur, while it would also be interesting to note support for Diriculous, who is bred to be effective at this trip and can be expected to have learned plenty from his debut over course and distance last month. Diriculous will need to be a lot sharper from the gates if he is to figure today, though. A draw in stall ten can be a help and it is not unfeasible for him to put in a markedly improved effort. Batchworth Fleur barely gets six furlongs and needs everything to fall into place for her. However, she invariably travels well in her races and is not without a chance if there is a only a modest early pace. Compulsion put in her best effort when she finished third (two and a half lengths ahead of Diriculous) here in October and can be considered a big threat on that effort. The penny is starting to drop with the Bertolini filly and she looks a solid option for Placepot punters to have on the list. However, Calloffthesearch just edges the verdict for win only purposes, as he has threatened to deliver in much stronger handicaps than this. So the step back into a maiden may be just the ticket for Calloffthesearch.
