Dark Arctic won this a year ago but has hardly picked his feet up in three subsequent starts. Paul Rothwell also runs Berkerys Treasure, who was in excellent form around this time a year ago but hasn't been seen since falling at Gowran in October. Campbonnais was a big disappointment on firm ground here last time when the going was the explanation given for his poor effort. He had completed a double on good to firm ground earlier but may just be too high in the weights. The Shepherd landed a maiden over this trip at Downpatrick in August when the going was on the easy side. He failed to sparkle in much faster conditions over 3m1f at Perth on his only subsequent outing and is much better than that. BAIZICALLY has a penalty for landing a Downpatrick maiden on Tuesday. That was over 2m7f and this could possibly be on the short side but he looks well enough handicapped to take this before heading for Galway.
