Verdict

BEACHDALE LAD, who had already won over hurdles and fences, made a big impression on his chasing bow at Roscommon where he made some fair novices look ordinary. He'll continue to make progress and looks an exciting prospect. Dual winning hurdler Churchfield Champ won a novices handicap on just his third chase start at Market Rasen though this is much tougher, especially as Datokepe produced a shock victory over Mackeys Forge here last month. Lord Ben and Toner D'Oudairies fought out the finish of a similar event at Thurles and the latter can come out best this time while Six Stone Ned showed courage to see off Playtime Ben here three weeks ago and Noel Meade will find plenty of opportunities for him.
