Verdict

The Islander landed a Cork maiden last month but couldn't make the step-up to Listed company at the Curragh last week and was beaten a long way. DAREDEVIL DAY was around 7l behind him at Cork but caught the eye with a strong finish over that 7f and showed the benefit with a comfortable success over 1m2f at Sligo. He won't be inconvenienced by dropping back and can defy a 13lb rise with Conor King's claim a help. Focussed easily beat The Panhandler at Tipperary but is better over that 7f trip and the latter could take his revenge while Rathealy made a successful debut for Kevin Prendergast in heavy going at Gowran though he's been raised 8lb and will find this tougher. Gone Viral has gone up even more for his Gowran success but is by no means out of this.
