Verdict

Winning bumper Avoca King pulled up over hurdles at Navan in February where the very heavy ground was against him. He should do better while It's Ironic beat a huge field in a Gowran bumper last month and this dual point-to-point winner should have no problems jumping hurdles. Shannon Spirit had looked a certain future winner when a close second to The Pier at Thurles in January but his latest effort at Cork in March was a disappointment. BAREL OF LAUGHS has done everything but win on his two latest starts and was caught on the line by Memories Of Milan at Clonmel last month. He's still on the upgrade and can take this though Saved By John, who has produced some fine efforts in good class company, looks a major threat on ground that will be ideal.
