In depth

Verdict

Most of these would be happier with a set of obstacles to jump including Townshend, who was in tremendous form over fences last summer and has been running in strong company. Venezia came good over the bigger obstacles at Clonmel and is well handicapped on his best Flat form while Emperor Waltz won over the course and distance in May though that was on soft ground. Runyon Rattler could also find this going a bit lively but the lightly-raced DASMYHOSS showed that fast ground holds no terrors with a fine run over a trip too short at Limerick and is taken to go one better. Dixie Highway has been going well all summer and can make a bold bid from the bottom of the handicap.
