Verdict

Aidan O'Brien had half-a-dozen engaged at the early stage and relies on Sovereign, a son of Galileo out of a two-year-old winner. CALIFORNIA DADDY stayed on nicely on his debut over 6f at Naas and again over an extra furlong on this track so this trip should prove ideal and he'll take some beating. Vocatus made a decent start over 6f on heavy ground at the Curragh but didn't make the expected progress when dropped to the minimum on fast going at Navan. He takes a big step-up in trip but his pedigree suggests he'll be suited. Masaff's pedigree is all about middle-distances so he should have no problems tackling a mile on his debut.
