In depth

Verdict

Very little to go on here so QUICK DE MAUX gets a tentative vote. John Murphy's charge, a winning bumper in France, was having just his second start for his new connections when falling in the race won by Uncle Junior at Gowran. He was just starting to make ground at the time and with a safe round can spring a surprise. Beckwith Star has a chaser's pedigree so his decent efforts over timber will have been a bonus and he can get involved on his debut over fences. Winning hurdler Michelle's Express ran quite well behind Tawaagg at Gowran and looks a threat but Rayhani didn't appear to enjoy racing over the bigger obstacles at Naas, though improvement can be expected. Politeo was one of the best of these over timber and Paul Nolan should have him spot-on for his chasing bow.
