Verdict

They may have been aiming too high, but the fact that connections even thought about entering NOBLE GREEK in a Group 2 earlier in the campaign tells us plenty about its chances of breaking the duck here and John Best's colt can do the business, while Key Art can emerge next best. The selection failed to justify favouritism last time at York in a very good maiden after being tried in the Group 2 July Stakes at Newmarket. Even so, the form of that latest run is strong in the context of this race and a reproduction of that latest effort should comfortably suffice. Key Art has finished runner-up on three of his five starts, all on turf and should be able to handle this surface. The minimum trip is ideal for now and he just can't seem to find any extra close to home, meaning that he is vulnerable again today. Art Summer is worth another try back at this trip and from a plumb draw, she should find herself in the thick of it, while I'malwaysright's run behind Italian Tom reads well enough and he is proven on this surface, so he cannot be ruled out. Neither debutant looks one for today and Bush Master and Ajara Boy both need to raise their game, so Noble Greek is a confident choice.
