In depth

Verdict

This could concern the three recent winners Lenoir, Pommes Frites and Pearly Poll, with the first named just getting our vote. Vince Smith's colt landed some nice bets when taking a seller on this course last time, he looks on a fair mark back in handicap company and looks the one to be on. Pommes Frites caused a bit of a shock when winning at Wolverhampton last time, beating some good yardsticks a shade comfortably. She has to shoulder top-weight here today but should still be there or thereabouts. Pearly Poll has plenty of scope for improvement having landed a maiden at Nottingham on only her second ever racecourse visit. She could be anything and has to be respected. Delta Charlie and Scroll are two others to consider for each-way purposes, but our idea of the winner is Lenoir.
