In depth

Verdict

Green Park has leading claims and gets the vote over Sand Cat, with Bathwick Prince best of the remainder. The latter hails from a stable that has been very profitable to follow with its two-year-olds, but he looked far from the finished article when hanging badly at Leicester on his second career start, and is best watched just for the time being. He may well improve enough to take a hand here, but cannot be classed as a reliable betting proposition just yet. Sand Cat makes his debut, and on breeding could easily be good enough at the first time of asking, being related to three winning sprinters. The market may reflect his chances, but on the evidence of a promising run at Windsor, Green Park is much preferred. Richard Hannon's juvenile stuck to his task well when chasing home Crocodile Bay at the Berkshire track, and as the latter has since followed up at Thirsk at the weekend, the form is solid enough to make Green Park a confident selection.
