Verdict

RECKLESS REWARD sets a standard the others are unlikely to reach and can be confidently supported; Black Moth might just beat Partout Le Magasin and Sirens to second spot. Richard Hannon's son of Choisir won a course and distance maiden to advertise his effectiveness on the surface and went on to take a fine second in the Group Two Norfolk Stakes. That level of form sets the standard and his subsequent failure came in a very competitive renewal of the Super Sprint; this represents a much easier assignment and he must take some beating. Black Moth is surely flattered by his rating of 97 and has to give weight away to all three rivals but the 5lb claim of useful John Fahy helps and he's clear second-best on form, having scored in similar company at Beverley. The concern would be that a quick five furlongs wouldn't be ideal, but Brian Meehan's charge can cope sufficiently well enough to take second ahead of Partout Le Magasin. Stan Moore's runner still showed signs of inexperience when well held over course and distance but that represented a step up on previous efforts and he can do better with time. Sirens, the only filly in the race, had shown speed on her first two starts but has something to prove now after a modest run at Windsor, so the way looks clear for Reckless Reward.
