Verdict

FAITHFUL DUCHESS caught a tartar last time and can gain compensation by beating Fantasy Fighter and Downhill Skier. Ed Dunlop's filly looked unlucky not to finish second to Stefanki over course and distance as she was halted in her run. That form looks strong as the winner would've won under a penalty were it not for an over-confident ride and Richard Hughes looks the ideal partner for Faithful Duchess, who can be produced late to get off the mark at the ninth time of asking. Fantasy Fighter won when last racing over course and distance and a 4lb higher mark appears fair, particularly as he's been in solid form since. John Quinn has his string ticking over nicely too and he's expected to benefit from a likely fierce gallop. Downhill Skier is another who should go well having shown he's on the way back last time; ideally he'd want 7f but Kieren Fox's mount should be motoring home. Towy Boy will be having his 45th start and remains a maiden so don't get too excited if he hits the front cruising, Kinigi is down to a winning mark but is best watched until returning to Southwell and Speedyfix is too inconsistent to side with confidently. What Katie Did knows how to win and is nicely treated on her 2009 form so needs a look in the market, however Faithful Duchess looks progressive and can get off the mark.
