In depth

Verdict

Denbera Dancer has the beating of Emperor Court and Srikuantan on what they have achieved so far and looks the safest option unless the money arrives for Eagle Nebula. Mark Johnston's Danehill colt was strongly backed to make a winning start to the year on his reappearance, here, over a mile on Wednesday. He raced a shade keenly but ultimately was done by the lack of a change of gear as he stayed on resolutely to the line once he picked up. This longer trip should suit and his supporters' money only leant. Srikuantan and Emperor Court are both beginning to look a little exposed but neither has done a great deal wrong and they should be able to win their maidens once granted a suitable opportunity. That pair are the likeliest to take advantage if the selection fails to run his race but Eagle Nebula is very well bred and has joined a shrewd operation. He'd be of interest if the money arrives but Denbera Dancer is the call.
