Southern Gailes was only beaten half a length over 7f at Kempton on his debut and then won a better race over a mile at that track. He is on the upgrade and looks the chief danger to RACE DAY. The Godolphin representative took four attempts to get off the mark but did it nicely over 7f here on his latest start and the extra furlong is unlikely to be an inconvenience. Battle Pride has been highly tried since winning his maiden at Salisbury in August and will appreciate this slightly easier task while it is interesting that Paul Cole has no qualms about pitching his newcomer Shah Of Armaan in against battle hardened rivals.
