Verdict

A terrific contest with most of these likely to be back here next Easter for the final itself. Grendisar usually runs well here and is preferred to stablemate Solar Deity. William Buick partners Maverick Wave for old boss John Gosden but his stable companion Tempus Temporis would also have claims with fitness unlikely to be an issue. Fire Fighter, French raider Metropol, Niceofyoutotellme, Don't Be and the unexposed three year old Let's Go add to the interest but we are going to stick with last year's winner BATTALION. Te William Haggas runner got back to winning ways in this grade at Goodwood last time and that should have put him spot on for a repeat.
