      Verdict

This looks a good maiden by the track's standards and the presence of William Buick is enough to persuade us that NEW BRUNSWICK is worth persevering with. John Gosden's colt probably found it happening all a little too quickly at Sandown on debut, but there was a lot to like about that performance and he should have learnt plenty. Al Bandar was set for a date at the sales though he went to Nottingham instead and ran on well over six furlongs on his belated debut. Pasticcio proved easy to back at Brighton ahead of his first start and the market proved was to prove highly accurate on that occasion. There will be few better-bred horses running on Saturday than Swaheen and Sir Michael Stoute's colt is watched with the future very much in mind.
