    Verdict

Given David Loder's already impressive record with his juveniles this term, Diamond way will be a popular choice to go in first time ahead of the more experienced Garrigon. Diamond Way cost Sheikh Mohammed 57,000gns, small change compared to some of his acquisitions, but the way this American-bred has been going about his work on the gallops, he could be a real bargain. An entry in Redcar's Two-Year-Old Trophy this autumn beckons, should he prove good enough, and unless either of the other newcomers here is anything special, a winning debut is very much on the cards. Paul Cole's runner Keepers Knight runs here rather than in better company at Ascot on Friday, so the son of the stable's Coventry Stakes winner Sri Pekan should not be entirely ruled out of calculations. Madaeh is from the same family as Group 1 winners Elnadim and Mehthaaf, and should come on for her Yarmouth introduction in which she was a bit green, but a bigger danger to the selection could be Garrigon who shaped well on his second start when runner-up at Epsom, clearly appreciating the step up to seven furlongs. he will surely win a maiden before long but will probably find Diamond Way too classy here.
