Verdict

Christmas Aria was engaged to run in a maiden at Southwell yesterday and won't be eligible to run in this contest if he won. If he does turn up, he may still find it difficult to confirm recent running with BEAUTIFUL DAY. The latter finished a couple of lengths behind Simon Dow's charge on his racecourse debut and, with improvement expected, he looks capable of opening his account in this company. Sofias Number One also ran well on his debut at Kempton and can figure while National Hope makes most appeal of the newcomers.
