Rarely is a horse rated as highly as ABBONDANZA seen in a seller and with Frankie Dettori booked to ride, this should be straight forward for Noel Wilson's charge who gets the vote from Ravi River, whilst Heroes and Tous Les Deux can fight it out for minor honours. Our selection was last seen behind Dunelight at Wolverhampton in a very good handicap, so whilst he was well held that day this is a monumental drop in class. The gelding wasn't beaten far over course and distance prior to that and, as he's rated 106, the horse has any amount in hand and should score as he likes. It will be a major upset if our selection is beaten, but Ravi River should run his usual solid race and that can see him home second. David Evans' charge has a bit to find with Heroes and Tous Les Deux at the weights but, unlike that pair, arrives here in good heart having won a couple of these in February. All the six-year-old's wins have come over seven furlongs but he gets the mile well enough to play a part. Heroes and Tous Les Deux are hard to separate and both have questions to answer at present. The former won a handicap over this trip in the summer but has disappointed since and might be better on turf, whilst contrastingly Tous Les Deux is a course and distance winner and that swings the balance in his favour. The Mumbo won a maiden here but hasn't gone on and has plenty to do here, as does Whisky Jack although Martin Dwyer is riding out of his skin at present and that helps. The rest look poor at best and that takes us back to Abbondanza who is a class above this lot and should show that with a facile victory.
