Verdict

An interesting second season maiden where several can be considered; Frankie Dettori is an interesting booking for Ancient Times, however ZUIDER ZEE looks a likely newcomer and is preferred to Street Entertainer. John Gosden's Sakhee colt is related to winners across the globe, including a champion three-year-old colt in Scandinavia. He hasn't been rushed to the racetrack but if the market signs are positive then he should go well in what looks a fair race. The Wonga Coup looks likely to be outclassed, so a more obvious danger is Street Entertainer. The yard have been going close with their runners so far this year and this son of Danehill Dancer should appreciate the longer trip today, having earned a rating of 79 by running well in three mile maidens in the Autumn. Mister Pleau drops back in trip despite improving from first to second runs when held by Atlantic Tiger here last month, whilst Ancient Times was comfortably held by Gomrath here last time out but it was a better effort than at Wolverhampton the time before. An interesting maiden, but we'll take a chance with the debutant Zuider Zee.
