Verdict

Charles Byrnes had two winners over fences on Friday and Alto Esqua is a very interesting entry. A winning hurdler on his racecourse debut, he hasn't been seen since narrowly beaten narrowly by Val De Ferbet on heavy ground at Limerick in December but the market should be watched for clues. Four-times winning hurdler BAMAKO MORIVIERE is taking his time to get to grips with fences but today's conditions and a likely strong gallop will play to his strengths and he's handed the vote to gain his first victory over the bigger obstacles. Roconga, who finished in front of him last time, has had more experience though it will be a surprise if he doesn't win soon while Capital Force, whose last run was in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham, looks another smart recruit to chasing for Henry De Bromhead.
