A poor contest where TABARAN is suggested to get the better of Grand Fella, Genari and Unico. The selection won a Stratford seller last month and for some reason the handicapper put him up a stone for that before he made the frame in a similar contest last time. Trip and ground are ideal for him and this is clearly his sphere, so we with the yard going well enough we give him the vote. Grand Fella will find this easier than some of the Irish handicaps he has been contesting and despite the ordinary look to his finishing figures we expect him to be thereabouts. Fellow Irish raider Genari won a Sedgefield seller before going close here next time and given that he also goes on the ground he has to be a serious player in this company. Unico is unproven on good ground but acts on fast and after some reasonable efforts in moderate company across the water he can also get involved. Tribiani and Bet Noir are not out of this if at their best, but Tabaran is suggested.
