In depth

Verdict

Smoking Jacket was always in the front line on his debut here last month and will have benefited from the experience as he only faded in the closing stages. The Outlaw made a promising debut at Taunton in April and started favourite back there last month but pulled much too hard and was eventually beaten a long way. The remaining pair with experience haven't shown much so this can go to a newcomer. Sandygate looks the type to be suited by further in time but runners from his yard can never be ignored in these races, a remark that certainly applies to Nicky Henderson's bumper entries and CHOCCA WOCCA fits the bill here. She's by Kayf Tara and the first foal of the very useful mare Chomba Womba, who won ten races in her career including two bumpers.
