In depth

Verdict

On the bare form, this looks a formality for Billyandi, with Freeline Fury and newcomer My Skipper seen as the main dangers. Billyandi was given a good ride by Carl Llewellyn on his debut at Towcester, as he was taken wide in search of better ground throughout, and was kept together when hanging up the hill to hold on by a neck from Zipalong Lad. This track is a different kettle of fish altogether, and with better ground as well, he should be well up to defying his penalty. State Of Play, from last year's winning stable, was a fair fifth in a Fontwell bumper but needs to improve markedly to beat the selection, while the market may prove a guide to the chances of My Skipper. Henrietta Knight's charge is related to an Irish chaser and that will be where his future lies, but you never know, he might just be sharp enough to take a hand in proceedings. With proven form though, Billyandi looks the obvious one.
