Verdict

PAINT THE CLOUDS followed up his debut success at Sedgefield with a course and distance win last time and is put forward to complete the hat-trick with Pocket Guide and Mumbles Pier in hot pursuit. The selection comes from the Alan Swinbank yard who do so well in these races and looks a solid bet to defy his double penalty. Pocket Guide improved marginally from his debut to his second run but needs to make a leap forward here. Mumbles Pier is an interesting long-term prospect and shaped as though he was getting to grips with things at Stratford last time. He may need more time but is preferred to Light Touch who hung left at a crucial stage last time.
