Verdict

CLAUDE CARTER has had a couple of runs on the Flat since his fourth at Cartmel in May. He's no world-beater and is now a 10-year-old but Ally Stirling is a good jockey booking and he'd just about win this modest finale on his best form. King's Road hasn't raced over hurdles since April last year but is another who is fit from the level and he can't be ignored. Saint Brieuc needs to step up on what he's achieved so far, however, and Lost In Newyork is still 6lb higher than when scoring at Leicester in December and took a backward step at Uttoxeter last month.
