Verdict

SAGREDO was strongly fancied for a handicap on the Flat at Chepstow last month but the ground turned against him. He looks well at present and, potentially leniently treated back over hurdles, can recapture the winning thread here. Manshoor has shown no real improvement for a drop down the weights while Violets Boy was still beaten nine lengths when second at Southwell and more is needed. Valleyofmilan may still be a few pounds too high but Compton Blue is only a pound higher than when winning at Huntingdon in the autumn and makes more appeal than Father Shine and The Fox's Decree, who are better over fences.
