A tricky race brings and end to proceedings here and again the market should prove to be a vital tool but we are going to side with Alan Swinbank's PAINT THE CLOUDS; I've Been Framed and Manitoba also make the shortlist. The selection, whose yard does well in this sphere, was a winning debutant last time and is related to winners over a variety of distances. He showed distinct signs of greenness on this debut and should be capable of better. I've Been Framed was the winner of an Irish point two starts ago and should have come on for his last outing, when finishing third at Stratford so a finish among the minors here looks more than possible. Manitoba, a 21,000gns purchase half-brother to Zonergem and Listed winner Runaway, put in a decent debut display last time. He got a little tapped for toe before keeping on again and finished a clear second-best. His stable are not known for debut winners, so he should go close this time. Vivarini looks best of the remainder. The gelding should enjoy the stiffer test on his hurdling debut but he tends to lack pace where it matters so he should be of no concern to our selection Paint The Clouds.
