NUT HAND is a token selection in this opener with Strikemaster and What A Day others for consideration. A modest middle distance performer on the level, he represents a yard that have had winners this week and on pedigree, should be capable of staying the trip tonight. Strikemaster has the edge of experience having debuted in June. That said, he has had two recent runs over two miles on the level and he could need further at the winter game. What A Day ran a solid race over 1m2f at Beverley on the level and hails from the John Quinn stable. Hey Up Dad rather lost his way this season so the switch to hurdling is attempted in an attempt to reawaken enthusiasm. Langford Decoit makes his debut for Tim Vaughan having left the Mick Channon stable. True Britannia is in receipt of the fillies allowance though is probably exposed as far as the formbook is concerned. Highland River came to grief at the first on hurdling debut so it is to be hoped that this engagement proves much more successful. Nut Hand is taken to score in a race that will require little in the way of winning.
