Verdict

BLAZING DESERT has been keeping decent company on the Flat since he last ran over hurdles, finishing a close-up fourth at Ripon last month. He looks well handicapped back over timber and, given his trainer's excellent strike rate here, could be worth an interest in a race less competitive than the numbers might suggest. Drop The Hammer wasn't beaten far on the level on her latest outing at Catterick and could be a danger off her low weight, while Uttoxeter winner A Stones Throw and top weight Louis Ludwig should also go well.
