        Verdict

        KIMBEAR, a very useful performer at Santa Anita, made such a spectacular debut here that he looked unbeatable next time but came up against a potential star on the Dirt in Boynton. Doug Watson's charge is conceding lumps of weight all round but should be good enough to recoup losses. Raven's Corner completed a double at a similar level here a year ago. He found Group 3 company too hot on his reappearance and, though running well enough in a handicap next time, will need to make progress to see off the selection. Portamento ran his best race to date here last time though that was on Turf while Adventurous, a winner at Newbury for Mark Johnston, was beaten out of sight on his debut here last month though should have come on for the run, his first since May 2016.
