Verdict

All seven runners have a chance of winning this handicap but heading up our shortlist is course specialist MONTE PATTINO who has the verdict in preference to Grandad Bill and That'll Do Nicely. A cosy enough winner last time out the selection will have to carry a six pounds penalty when he goes in search of his third win in four tries at this track. However, that extra weight is almost negated by a capable conditional jockey and with no questions about his stamina he has a leading chance. Grandad Bill is yet to win over this far but races off of bottom weight carrying five pounds less than the last time he scored so should go well. That'll Do Nicely won over course and distance in similar conditions two starts ago and is entitled to get in the mix despite a high looking mark. Wee Charlie Castle looks a little up against it under his burden and carrying top weight so this looks a good opportunity for Monte Pattino to strike again.
