In depth

Verdict

The History Man, Owners Biscuits and Bowland Boy are three against the field in the opener and the vote is given to The History Man. The selection made a really pleasing debut when second behind Dusty City at Doncaster. He showed a really good attitude that day and with nominal improvement he will be very hard to beat. Owners Biscuits is from a top yard but she was well beaten on her debut behind Ace Baby at Nottingham. However, that was on a soft surface and with this faster ground much more suitable she could go well. Bowland Boy finished well down the field in the Brocklesby at Doncaster on his debut but he will find this much easier and he will be interesting if the market speaks in his favour. Lake Hero showed a modicum of ability on her debut and is another with place prospects, but for the winner we return to The History Man.
