In depth

Verdict

Guertino can make experience count over Gin Genereux and La Guancha, with Countrywide Comet also worth a mention. Guertino improved markedly on his second outing when just touched off by the more experienced Taurian at Hamilton, and although the form might not turn out to be anything special, he can put the experience to good use here at least. Mark Johnston's Gin Genereux was fairly well fancied on his Hamilton debut but only beat one home. He is surely better than that and can also take a hand along with La Guancha, a good third at Ripon on her introduction. Countrywide Comet looks held by the selection on their running at Hamilton but did not get off to the best of starts and looked green. He will know more today and can get closer this time, but we still fancy the chances of Guertino.
