In depth

Verdict

A competitive field goes to post for this nursery with many in form rivals in opposition including Four Amigos, Bond Romeo and Compassion and we will take a chance on Bond Romeo. Bryan Smart's charge was a fair fifth behind Johnny Parkes last time out and he looks to be on a fair mark here he will not be far away with conditions again in his favour. Four Amigos rates the main danger he won well last time out when defeating Benbaun and despite his penalty he should go well from what looks a good draw. Compassion could also go well he was a fair fourth behind Vikings Bay last time out and that form has since been franked. Of the remainder Blue Moon Hitman is game and consistent but is still a maiden and gives the impression he will be seen to better effect over a longer trip. The top weight Island Spell would also have a chance on his best form but he looks to have plenty of weight for what he has actually achieved so we will side with the well weighted Bond Romeo.
