Kung Hei gets the vote here ahead of a couple of interesting newcomers in Amber Glory and City For Conquest. The selection has already had a run, finishing third on the all-weather at Lingfield eight days ago. That had the look of a pretty decent race for the time of year, and as long as this doesn't come too soon for him after those exertions and the travelling involved, he looks to hold very good claims. Turning to the others, and Frogmill Prince has something to like on breeding, although his stable is not generally known for early types, but Mick Channon is, and he runs Wovoka, However, it will be interesting to see how this Mujadil colt fares over the minimum trip as, on breeding, he should certainly stay further in time. Kevin Ryan's Amber Glory catches the eye on breeding, plus the fact that connections paid 14,500 guineas for her, and City For Conquest, who cost 18,000 guineas, also attracts attention. With many of the others having been cheaply-acquired, we return to Kung Hei, who is taken to score.
