Verdict

You won't get rich backing him but RED MOLONEY looks to have this race at his mercy if putting in a clear round while Grand Diamond looks the only possible danger in the race. The selection was rated as high as 110 on the flat in Ireland and had no difficulty getting off the mark first time of asking over course and distance and even though he has a penalty to carry he looks a class above his rivals here. Grand Diamond is rated in the mid 60's on the level and will benefit for his first outing over hurdles here at the beginning of the month. He has obvious place claims but is nowhere good enough to beat the selection. Casual Affair has his hurdles bow and was good enough to win off a mark of 72 on the flat so any market moves should be noted. But for the winner we return to Red Moloney.
