In depth

Verdict

It would be no surprise to see either Rex Romanorum or Muftarres bounce back to form here, while the latter's stablemate Hoppy's Flyer wasn't winning out of turn at Catterick eight days ago and should be thereabouts despite a high draw. JUST THE TONIC is gradually rediscovering his best form and can take advantage of a lenient mark here. He was 3lb higher than when successful at Thirsk in the spring. Steel Stockholder is a consistent type and this trip suits him nowadays but he's probably just a couple of pounds too high at present.
