In depth

Verdict

ERICH BLOCH can take this as he beat a big field of maidens over the course and distance in November and looks the type to make good progress this campaign. Klute has only run over 7f and led for a long way on his return to action here last month while Ferretti, a winner over 7f at Dundalk, drops back in trip after a decent run over a mile here. Cityman showed plenty of potential in his first campaign and landed a Dundalk maiden in convincing style in February while Empire Line would be an obvious contender if transferring his Polytrack form to Turf as he easily beat Annabelle Rock at Dundalk. Syrena scrambled home to gain her first victory over 7f at Dundalk but Sonaiyla is making her handicap debut from what looks a fair mark. Blyton won three times in the UK last season and will have come on markedly for last month's run in a Listed contest here but Chestnut Express was engaged in the 8.35 here last night.
