It wasn't the strongest of maidens in which New Atalanta finished a close third behind Strandhill at Roscommon but she stayed on nicely over that 7f and begins her handicap career on a fair mark. Aoibhinn has only won once in 15 outings but appears to like some give in the ground and is 3lbs lower than when a very good third in a handicap on soft going at the Curragh in October. Polly Ella is 8lbs higher than when scoring on fast going at Bellewstown while the veteran Market Minstrel ran poorly at Listowel last month. In an extremely trappy contest, OBAMA'S BABY is taken to win this under her experienced rider as she ran well enough on her reappearance at Gowran in April to suggest there is some improvement to come and she will like the conditions.
