In depth

Verdict

Several of these ran at the Curragh a fortnight ago with Tithonus doing best in fourth behind Ice Age. He's looking a couple of pounds high after completing a double on that track earlier but can still get into the action. Paul Midgley does well when sending his sprinters to Ireland and has two engaged here. Pat Smullen has been booked for the veteran Monsieur Joe and though his mount hasn't won for some time he's slipped to a very favourable mark. MAGIC BEAR (NAP) looked one to follow when landing a Tipperary handicap last month then didn't get the best of runs on a return visit in a Listed contest. She can continue her progress and take this as the three-year-old Voge, another on the upgrade, is a couple of pounds out of the handicap.
