Verdict

Racheal Kneller won this for Mark Brisbourne a year ago and the stable's Black Coffee is no forlorn hope having won from a 1lb higher mark at Redcar in August. Yes Chef has been disappointing since his victory from 10lb higher at Kempton in September but will get a good ride from Brendan Powell while Redinessence has shown a bit of potential and can't go much lower in the ratings. BEAT ROUTE has a penalty to carry but he had Eagle Nebula just over two lengths behind in a similar event over the C&D last week and, though the runner-up has a fair pull at the weights under a 7lb claimer, it may not be quite enough as the winner appeared to have something in hand. Matavia Bay gave Michael Murphy his first victory when making all at Nottingham and the partnership can go well again despite an 8lb rise in the weights.
