In depth

Verdict

All have a fair chance although it's rare to see Nicky Henderson with the bottom weight in a Newbury handicap but that's the case with POST WAR. He's obviously had major issues and understandably became tired on his return after a near two-year absence. The best of his hurdling form arrived on good ground so conditions will suit and he might be worth a shot here off the bottom rung. Mont Des Avaloirs and Highest Sun are respected at the head of the weights with the latter preferred but the main danger may be Redzor. Highly tried the last twice, he looks fairly treated returned to handicaps and, crucially, will be much more at home on quicker ground.
