      Verdict

SPICE WAR's best run came at around this trip at Windsor and he may have found 1m2f too short at Haydock so he gets the vote in a poor handicap. Pippin dropped into a Class 6 on his first start over this trip at Salisbury and duly obliged but that was on ground with some give and he's 6lb higher. Construct couldn't handle heavy going at Haydock and his pedigree suggests he should do better and though Coal Stock is still a maiden he did much better when stepped up in trip at Lingfield. Both Encryption and Cleverley make their handicap debuts though neither has shown enough to be considered.
