From a shortlist that contains Catbang, Pantomime Prince, Royal Envoy, Tommy Toogood and Royal Reservation, in an interesting opener, we will side with Catbang. Catbang is interesting not just because of his name but also because he is by Zafonic from the same family as Law Society. A good market vibe would be interesting. Pantomime Prince showed promise when second on his Goodwood debut and can improve again, while Blue Aura needs to improve on his debut run to feature. Capistrano is one to watch in the betting, but Royal Envoy, who is nicely bred and cost 110,000 guineas, looks a better option from the same Barry Hills yard and is respected. Hills also runs two others, the most interesting of which would appear to be the 240,000 euros son of Danehill, Tommy Toogood. Royal Reservation is another to have interesting breeding, while money for the locally-trained Antigoni could also be interesting. Finally, Dancing On looks the better of the Gerard Butler pair and makes some appeal. Overall, though, if the market gives it the thumbs up, we will stick with Catbang.
