New Seeker, Vortex and Mac Love are the three for the shortlist here and the confident vote is given to New Seeker. The selection ran well in a Group 3 race at Salisbury last time when third behind Layman over 1m. The drop back to 7f will suit this course and distance winner, as will the ease in grade, and he is taken to get his head in front. Mac Love is another eased in grade after being well-beaten in a Group 2 race at Doncaster last time when finishing in mid-division behind Ifraaj. However, his best form is over a slightly longer trip and for that reason he is taken on. Vortex ran well in a Listed race in Sweden last time when second behind Organiser. That was a return to form as he has been a little disappointing since winning a Group race at Newmarket in June. If he runs up to his best he will not be far away at the finish. Great Britain is the Godolphin representative here and he won his maiden in decent style when defeating Neideen at Newcastle on his racecourse debut. It is interesting that he is stepped-up into this grade so quickly and a watching brief on the market is advised as that will give us a good guide as to his chance. However, in a competitive Listed race we will nominate New Seeker as the one to beat.
