Verdict

This maiden has been won by some smart sorts in the past including Paco Boy last year and Stimulation in 2006. Quite a number of the bigger stables are represented by some well bred juveniles so it is probable an above average sort will be needed to land it. Huntdown was the subject of strong early morning support prior to making his debut at Newmarket and fulfilled the promise he had obviously been showing on the Newmarket gallops when just finding another morning gamble Absent Pleasure too strong. Third in that race was Kingship Spirit who brought a solid level of maiden form into that race and runs at Beverley on Wednesday while the fourth Adorn was very impressive in breaking her maiden tag at Kempton recently. It looked a good maiden on paper that day and while cynics will state a blanket could cover the first five home, they have all done their bit for the form since. Cabernet Sauvignon is another that showed a deal of promise on debut where he was noted doing all his best work in the closing stages under hands and heals riding. He drops back to six furlongs here which is unusual given the fact he is bred to come into his own over further and is probably best watched until stepped back up to seven furlongs. The form of that Sandown maiden has been boosted during the week with the fifth winning in impressive fashion at Lingfield. All About You is a full-brother to Always Hopeful, a precious juvenile who landed the 2005 Richmond Stakes for Eoghan O'Neill. Richard Hannon saddles two of which the experienced Bartica would need to improve while the market should be watched where Compton Blue is concerned. Brian Meehan has been noted to introduce some of his better juveniles at this venue so support for the Johannesburg colt George Rex should be noted. A very interesting maiden and HUNTDOWN is the pick to win it.
