      Verdict

      NATHAN, a progressive three-year-old, made a pleasing return to action after a 279-day break last month when a good third in a competitive Chelmsford handicap behind the useful Alfarris. He handles good to firm on debut last season so conditions should be fine. He remains open to improvement and can open his account for the current campaign and go on to better things. Lucky Deal ran a decent race at Chester last time under topweight but is likely to prove better suited by this more conventional, galloping track and is seen as the main danger. The best of Koeman's form brings him into contention and the consistent handicapper Hawridge Flyer is in with a shout in an open little affair. Rustang has winning form but has yet to place in five starts on turf.
